Puff pastry Christmas trees are a great idea to set up your table. An easy but impressive recipe. You can serve them as a starter at the center of the table, or you can place them as placeholder as “greeting appetizer”, definitely your guests will love the idea. You can choose both a rectangular and a round puff pastry. In the first case you will get trees of the same size, in the second case you will have different sizes. Choose according to your aesthetic preference. Here's how we make them.
1 rectangular puff pastry
20 g of raw ham
50 g of creamy cheese
cubes of parmesan cheese
Roll out the rectangular puff pastry on a countertop.
Spread the creamy cheese in the lower half of the puff pastry.
Put the raw ham on top of the creamy cheese.
Close the lower edge of the sheet, overlapping it with the upper edge.
Cut out strips of about 1 cm thick.
Form folds with strips.
Take care to give the strip the shape of a tree.
Thread the puff pastry trees with wooden sticks.
Place them in a baking tin with baking paper.
Cook for about 20 minutes in a preheated 200° degrees oven.
Once ready, place a cube of parmesan cheese at the base of the wooden stick and serve them.
