Description

This is one of our delicious Christmas suggestion. It’s perfect as finger food or appetizer. Potatoes roses is a tasty and an easy idea to prepare. You can bake the roses in the oven and you can serve them whether warm, or cold. You can also spicy them, as you prefer. In this case, we use oregano, chives and turmeric. But you can use paprika, rosemary or chilli pepper, in short, you can indulge in your own taste.

Ingredients
  • rectangular puff pastry

  • butter

  • 2 potatoes

  • chives

  • salt

  • pepper

  • oregano

  • turmeric

  • extra virgin olive oil

Preparation

Peel the potatoes and wash them well.

Cut them into thin slices using a mandoline.

Roll out the puff pastry on a countertop, possibly rectangular, and cut into strips of 5 cm each.

Take the first strip and proceed in the same way with the other ones.

Arrange the potato slices on the edge of the first strip of the puff pastry, so that they are slightly overlapping and make sure especially that half potato remains outside the upper edge of the pastry.

Season with a little salt and pepper and choose the aromatic spices you like. We used oregano, chives and turmeric.

Close the lower edge of the puff pastry, overlapping it at the upper edge.

Starting from the end of the strip, roll up the puff pastry with the potatoes.

Bake for about 20/25 minutes in a 220° degrees using a static oven.
