During the holidays you always take a look for special recipe to amaze your guests. Chicken drumsticks with apples and pomegranate is an elegant, tasty and alternative dish. Moreover, the pomegranate is a real panacea for your health, because it’s a powerful antioxidant, it has very interesting nutritional and beneficial properties. It contains vitamin K and B and it has very few calories, 70 per 100 grams. We offer it in this version because it gives a distinctive bittersweet taste to all meats, and the combination of flavors and colors make it an excellent Christmas dish.
600 g of chicken drumsticks
3 yellow apples
2 red Tropea onions
extra virgin olive oil
Brown the chicken drumsticks in a non-stick pan with a little oil, salt and pepper and set aside.
Meanwhile, peel the apples into wedges but not too thin.
Cut the Tropea onions coarsely.
Use the same pan to brown apples and onions together.
After this, peel the pomegranates and extract the grains.
Squeeze 3/4 of the grains obtained to get some juice.
Add the chicken you set aside before, to the yellow apples and onion.
Simmer with pomegranate juice until reduced.
Add the remaining pomegranate grains to the chicken and cook in the pan for another 15 minutes.
Finish baking at 200 degrees for another 15 minutes.
Then serve it with a good red wine.
